Early Elementary School Course

The Early Elementary Course includes everything a teacher, social worker, or school counselor would need to facilitate a Good Friend autism awareness, acceptance, and empathy-building service in a K* - 2nd grade classroom. Course Content includes an introductory instructional narrative, downloadable PDFs of materials (including a film guide for early elementary students), and the 20-minute long We ALL Fit video in both English and Spanish.

* Good Friend, Inc.'s early elementary school curriculum is intended for kindergarteners as young as 5 years of age. Contact us for ideas to use with preschool or early childhood learners.

By purchasing the course, you'll be equipped with tools to connect with the family of a particular student subject, if desired, in order to link the course material to your specific neurodiverse classroom. Creating connections among learners reduces disability harassment, and we know that bullying of autistic students is a persistent problem without peer training.

Course Objectives:

  • Get children to think positively about differences.
  • Tell children what autism is (and isn't) using positive, accurate language.
  • Demonstrate social emotional tools useful for disability harassment prevention.
